Imbalances of cholesterol


Do not think cholesterol is always harm to the body as many people thinks. Is good to some extent if balanced properly and will act as essential component of human body. Cholesterol performs multiple functions in the body such like acting as a carrier for fats, protecting the red blood cells and muscular membrane of the body. It will also help for proper functioning of nerve and brain apart from forming sex hormones.


Cholesterol travels through he blood in protein packages called lipoproteins. There are 2 types of Lipoproteins. One is Low density Lipoprotein (LDL) and the other is High Density Lipoprotein(HDL). In medical terminology LDL is called as bad cholesterol and HDL is called as good cholesterol.

Problems with LDL

It will create a blockage in the arteries by building up plaque.  The blood supply to the other organs like liver, kidney, genitals, and brain will also be blocked and this is one of the key causes for heart diseases. . So, cholesterol balance should be maintained for healthy body and healthy heart.

Causes of cholesterol imbalances:

·         Poor lifestyle
·         Food with heavy fat contents
·         Lack of regular exercise
·         Mental stress
·         Diabetes
·         High Blood Pressure
·         Excessive smoking and drinking
·         Obesity
·         Fatty diets

Health tips to follow
  • Eat a clove of garlic every morning on empty stomach. The intake should increase by adding it in daily routine recipes. This will increase the HDL levels and decrease the LDL levels
  • ·        Include a reasonable ginger in the daily diet which helps blood circulation
  • ·         Try to eat more raw food items
  • ·         Barley juice or barley recipes instead of rice will help more
  • ·         Regular oatmeal
  • ·         Eat one apple every day after every meal
  • ·         Fresh fruit juices particularly carrot and beetroot juices
  • ·         Consumption of soymilk
  • ·         8-10 glasses of water daily
  • ·         Take onion juice once or twice in a week
  • ·         Loss weight to avoid obesity
  • ·         Take 2 spoons of coriander seeds, mix it with a glass of water and boil, let it cool for some time and then strain. Drink the juice thrice a day which helps in controls blood cholesterol and stimulates kidneys
  • ·         Eat handful of almonds and walnuts daily
  • ·         Take 10 pieces of cinnamon each size of 2.5cm and mix it with a table spoon of honey and 5 tea cups of water, then boil he mixture . Take this juice twice a week
  • ·         Quit smoking and alcohol
